Marcello Gandini, is among the best car-designers and designers of the twentieth century. For some people, it is the most revolutionary of designers worldwide. Some ideas that he cares about very much, are less celebrated than others, this is the spirit of the exhibition that MAUTO dedicates to Gandini open until 26 May 2019. Alongside the best known cars signed by the designer during his stay at Bertone, other vehicles are on display where Gandini's contribution, engineering and aesthetics together, has been highly innovative.
"MARCELLO GANDINI, GENIO NASCOSTO" is the exhibition dedicated to him, curated by Giosuè Boetto Cohen and divided into two parts: the first, full of original documents, objects and films, presents the story and production of the maestro Gandini. The second part presents all the most famous show cars and some unusual vehicles.
The protagonist is the Stratos Zero presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1970, which arrived at MAUTO from an American private collection. But also exceptional is the presence of the Lamborghini Marzal prototypes (on loan from Switzerland collection of Albert Spiess), Alfa Romeo Montreal 1967 and Alfa Romeo Carabo (both from the Museo Storico di Arese).
