The DALLARA was born in 1972 and in the autumn of 2018, a new building was inaugurated next to the historic headquarters in Varano de' Melegari (Parma-Italy): the Dallara Academy. A structure with a bold design, designed by the well-known Genoese architect Alfonso Femia.
The Dallara Academy, a building strongly desired by the Engineer Giampaolo Dallara, is spread over two floors, connected by a wide curved ramp, which can be traveled on foot. It is a building with a multipurpose soul, but strongly focused on issues dear to the company: the link with the territory, technology and training.
This is the area of the Dallara Academy always open to visitors, accessible to the public and with the possibility of being accompanied by a guide. The exhibition ramp hosts the cars that have marked the history of the Engineer Dallara before, and from Dallara Automobili then : from the Miura to the X19, from the Sports cars born in collaboration with the Lancia, to the Indycars that running in the United States, from the prototypes of Le Mans up to the series Formula 3 and Formula E, to get to the last born the "Dallara Stradale". The visitor can immerse themselves in the history of high-performance racing and road cars, without ever losing touch with the surrounding environment, thanks to the large window that follows the trajectory of the entire ramp.
The Dallara Academy pays particular attention to the youngest: an entire area of the building is totally dedicated to Educational Workshops designed for students, where children can experience first hand the laws of physics applied to the design and development of automobiles.
The Educational Laboratories are based on the philosophy of edutainment, that is to say, to learn while having fun, bringing the students beyond the study of physics linked to the only school experience, to involve them directly in activities inspired by the three main skills that distinguish the company: the design and production with composite materials, aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics.
The Dallara Academy also has an area designed to host conferences, meetings, presentations and team building activities.
